It's a good thing they're so cute

This is what I found when I came home yesterday.  My 50+ year old Ethan Allen pedestal table--ruined, all because a stinkin' Milk Bone slid under there when I was doling out treats yesterday.  I didn't have time to move the table before I left, and none of the dogs saw it go under there.

Lesson learned:  never underestimate a dog's sense of smell, or his (or her) determination to get to a treat.

I do not love my dogs right now!

  1. It all boils down to what is more important, because pets and "stuff" don't mix well. :-)

    1. Ain't that the truth! My mother is turning over in her grave over how these dogs have "personalized" her (now my) home! Fortunately, I'm more dog mess tolerant (except when they eat my furniture!)

  2. Their noses never stop! I've been surprised when my dogs can smell the treats I left in the pocket of my jeans that are in the closest. Chewed pockets taught me very quickly to keep it closed.

  3. At first, as I started reading this article and saw that picture, I thought "Ah! Destructive dogs!" I see you own Huskies? They are well known destroyers haha. I've had a couple before.
I would recommend Bitter Apple spray if your dog chews. Better to be safe. It's a very good product and a must have in the home, I think =)

I'm not sure whether your dogs have a' chewing problem' though, but I do know dogs are very determined animals and would stop at nothing to get a nice treat!

    1. It's not so much a "chewing" problem as a "destroying" problem. lol

They are big chewers usually, but will not hesitate to destroy something to get what they are after. Goobers. (And, yes, one is a Husky, but in this case, I'm pretty sure the Malamute was to blame).

      Thanks for reading and commenting!
